The PFC Michael Anthony Carter Jr. Memorial Scholarship was founded by the family of PFC Carter in honor of his lifelong dedication to community service and protection. We hope to use this scholarship to assist many other young people in their desire to service their communities in the ways they see fit.
The PFC Michael Anthony Carter Jr. Memorial Scholarship application period is open from July 25, 2024 – December 25, 2024. Click the red “Apply Here” button at the bottom to be taken to the form. You cannot save the form once started, please have all information ready when you fill out the form.

Requirements
- Member of a single parent household.
- High School Senior accepted into a college or trade program in a service field (Emergency Responder/ Police Officer/ Teacher/ Nurse, etc.) Please submit your acceptance letter.
- Minimum G.P.A. score of 3.00. Please submit your final report card from your 11th grade year (make sure it includes your G.P.A.).
- Letter of Recommendation. Please submit one letter of recommendation from a member of the community who can attest to your dedication to community service. This can be an adult from your school or local community.
- Personal Statement. Tell us about a time when you volunteered and the impact it had on you. What did it mean to you? Write to us in “your voice,” it doesn’t have to be formal and polished. Minimum 500 words. Maximum 1000 words.
Process
- Submit application before December 25, 2024.
- Review of applications by the Scholarship Board from December 25, 2024 until January 15th, 2025.
- Announcement of top five finalists on January 15, 2025. Finalists will be contacted by email/phone call on January 15th.
- The Board will schedule interviews with the finalist between January 16th and Jan 31.
- Awardees announced February 7, 2025.
